Hi, I’m Tori Palmer.
I have been a school-based occupational therapist since 2016, first in Philadelphia, and now in Jackson, WY. Since being in Wyoming, I have discovered an unexpected passion of mine: students with disabilities transitioning from high school to the real world. Only one problem, the more information I gathered about this area of OT, the more I realized there is a huge gap. Through my research, I have have found that on the surface, it looks like there are a ton of resources and opportunities available, but they are often under-funded or confusing to access and navigate for already overwhelmed families and therapists.
The school system provides programs and opportunities for these students, however, with classes to pass and assignments to finish, there is not always enough time in the school day to address all of the important areas needed to successfully learn how to live in this world as an adult. That’s where I come in!
